The digital intern team were approached
by the Case Based Learning lead
to create a Moodle book that used
h5p interactive video elements with the primary aim to introduced Warwick's approach to case-based learning to incoming phase one students with a succinct and engaging
modality as CBL is a critical tool used
in the curriculum to both introduce new content and reinforce learning outcomes.
This project was a collaborative effort
between several faculty members and the digital intern team.
This collaboration offered the digital interns a unique opportunity to explore new digital platforms and refine their ability to create engaging and concise educational content. This hands-on experience expanded their repertoire of skills and deepened their understanding of medical
education.
Furthermore it underscores the
broader implications for the digital internship program, not only does it provide crucial support to faculty in expanding their digital reach but it also promote opportunities for students to cultivate their digital talents and
deepen their awareness of medical
curricula, especially if they harbor a
keen interest in the field of medical
education.
Recognising the changing landscape of social media the digital intern team were also invited to develop social media guidance tailored specifically for Warwick medical students that builds upon the existing guidance provided by the General Medical Council.
This was reinforced with a group workshop created in collaboration with faculty members which served as a dynamic platform to engage with a series of real world circumstances related to social media usage in the medical
profession.
Drawing upon a diverse range
of scenarios the workshop aimed to stimulate thought-provoking discussions and facilitate interactive learning experiences.
By exploring various hypothetical situations participants were encouraged to critically analyse the ethical implications, professional standards and potential consequences
associated with social media use as
medical professionals.
By integrating theoretical knowledge with practical application this workshop equips future healthcare professionals with the skills and
awareness needed to uphold ethical
standards and maintain trust in the
digital age and empowers our medical
students to navigate the intricacies of social media media with confidence integrity and professionalism.
