Examiner eligibility criteria for Finals OSLER exams

The following guidelines confirm eligibility criteria for the Year 4 OSLER examinations.

Guidelines:

  • Doctors with at least 3 years clinical practice experience since graduation.

OR

  • Trust clinical teaching fellows familiar with OSLERs only required to have 2 years clinical practice experience since graduation.

ALSO

  • Active involvement in teaching WMS Phase 3 medical students.
  • Hold a current GMC registration with a license to practise or have been actively involved in clinical work within the last three years.
  • Attendance at the relevant examiners training course with no concerns about ability to be an examiner and retraining every three years.
  • Commit to being available as an examiner for a minimum of three sessions within the next three years at any of our examination sites (currently George Eliot Hospital; Warwick Hospital; UHCW).
  • All examiners will be required to declare any potential conflict of interest in relation to examining students they have a prior relationship with.

 

Other applicants can apply in the form of a brief 2-5 page CV which should be submitted to the Clinical Assessment Subgroup at WMS. Please also include the date of your most recent appraisal within the last 12 months. If this has not been completed please provide a reason and a date for your next appraisal.
