Midlands Medical Schools and Healthcare Teachers and Advisers Conference (Online) | Monday 24th June 2024 | 9.45am – 4:00pm.

Several Midlands universities & medical schools, led by WMS, have come together with the Medical Schools Council and Health Education England to deliver a teachers and career advisers conference to provide key information needed to support pupils who aspire to a career in medicine or healthcare.

The day will include:

  • Interactive workshops to help you discover more about supporting your pupils to select the right healthcare career
  • The different routes into healthcare and medicine (including those for pupils from disadvantaged backgrounds)
  • Top tips on how to make a successful application.

Video Resources

We will aim to make available a pack of video resources to help support teachers & careers advisors with pupils considering applying to medicine and healthcare courses, such as:

  • Alternative careers in healthcare
  • Hidden requirements for applying and studying medicine and healthcare courses
  • 'Our Journeys into Medicine and Healthcare' - Student stories
  • Preparing your students for an application to medicine or healthcare

There will be plenty of opportunities for questions and myth-busting during the live event as well as a wealth of resources for you to take away with you.
