Inclusive Education is a set of principles and practices designed to enable all students to benefit from teaching. Inclusive educators acknowledge the uneven distribution of power in society, and makes decisions that makes learning accessible, cherish diversity and create a sense of belonging for all students. This encompasses their use of technology to ensure students physical and sensory needs are considered in the learning environment, and their diverse pedagogical choices with respect to their teaching philosophy & praxis, to what they teach and how.
At Warwick, our new Education and Student Experience strategy (2024-2030) sets out our commitment to ensuring all students should have an equitable educational experience. We believe all students deserve to have the support they need to thrive. Yes, we have legal and regulatory reasons for committing to this, but we want to do this because we care and are deeply committed to taking actions to reduce systemic injustice.
