Year 4 Modules

You are required to take the core modules. Enough options have to be taken in order to raise the total load to at least 120 CATS credits. You should choose modules totalling at least 60 CATS credits from list A.

Load

Where options are taken, so that the load exceeds the normal load, the marks for all modules attempted will appear on your University transcript. The overall year mark will be calculated as the arithmetic mean of the subset of whole modules, weighted according to their credit weighting, which satisfies the course specifications and results in the highest mark.

Third Year Modules

Where the timetable permits this, you may take physics modules from the third year that you have not already taken.

Note that the requirement to take at least 120 CATS of level 4 modules (those with MA4** or PX4** codes) will be automatically satisfied. You have already taken 40 CATS credits: Physics Laboratory 15, Group Project 15 credits and Maths Methods III 10 credits. With the Project and the List A requirement you will have taken more than 120 credits of level 4 modules. You should also read the rules about examinations and classification.
