GTA Selection Form for new Teachers and Demonstrators

All new PhD Students in the Physics Department MUST complete this form by the 9th of August 2024. 

As part of your PhD Course in the Physics Department at Warwick it is anticipated that you will also assist with the teaching of our undergraduate students in the role of Graduate Teaching Assistant (GTA).  All of GTAs are fully trained and supported and enjoy the experience of passing on their knowledge.  As will have been explained at your interview, teaching and demonstrating forms a key part of your transferrable skills.  You will benefit by developing skills that you will need in your future career, whether in academia or the commercial world; moreover, you will get paid for the hours spent preparing and delivering teaching.

This form will be used in order to help us match you to the most suitable role.  We will allocate roles according to the information provided in this selection form.



Availability

We need you our Graduate Teaching Assistants to commit to be available each week during term time

Skills and Experience

Please Note that prior experience is not essential and full training will be given. 
During their probationary period all Graduate Teaching Assistants are required to undertake and pass the 'Preparing to Teach in Higher Education' Course.
