The Engineering and Physical Sciences Research Council invites applications for its manufacturing fellowships. These support research with a transformative impact on the manufacturing industry. They aim at people who have the potential to be future research leaders in their field of manufacturing research and should transfer best practice from industry to academia. Proposals from the following areas are encouraged:

•21st century products;

•digital manufacturing;

•sustainable industries;

•new industrial systems.

People of any nationality, currently working in the industry, who are looking to develop a career in academia or academics who have moved industry within approximately 18 months, may apply. Applications from women and other under-represented groups are especially welcome. Fellowships may be held at any UK university or HEI that is eligible for Research Council Funding.

The total budget is £4 million for up to four fellowships over five years. Funding may cover staff time, travel, subsistence and access to equipment.
