The Science and Technology Facilities Council invites applications for its follow-on funding scheme. This provides financial support at the very early or pre-seed stage of turning research outputs into a commercial proposition. This may be used for: •undertaking further scientific and technical development of an idea; •improving an intellectual property position; •gaining further information about the market for the new products or process; •identifying potential licensees or opportunities for joint ventures. Lead applicants must have previously or currently hold STFC funding from the core science programme and employed at an approved UK HEI, research council institute or independent research organisation. Partners are not permitted. Proposals may be worth up to £110,000 to be funded at 80 per cent full economic cost for up to a year.
