EPSRC - Connected Everything – call for feasibility studies

Export as iCalendar

The Connected Everything Network Plus, funded by the Engineering and Physical Sciences Research Council, invites proposals for its call for feasibility studies. This supports feasibility studies in the field of digital manufacturing with a specific focus on industry involvement. The aim is to enable cross-disciplinary, foresight, speculative and risky early-stage research. Proposals should be in a pre-responsive mode and address challenges at low technology readiness levels, TRLs 1-3. The ideas should have potential to be developed into future applications or concepts that can be implemented within digital manufacturing. Applicants must be employed by an eligible UK academic institution, which may be an HEI, research institute or independent research organisation. Applications led by early-career academics and researchers are particularly encouraged, and projects will be expected to ensure that their research involves explicit collaboration with industry partners, providing direct or in-kind support. Collaborations of all sorts that would otherwise not happen and applications with leading participation from people drawn from non-traditional manufacturing disciplines are encouraged. The total budget is £240,0000. Grants worth up to £60,000 at 80 per cent full economic cost, are available for projects that are between six and 12 months in length.
