Royal Society - Policy associate scheme

Export as iCalendar

Primary funder name: Royal Society

Closing date: 01 Apr 21

Full text:  The Royal Society invites applications for its policy associate scheme. This enables university research and Dorothy Hodgkin fellows to undertake a policy secondment in a science policy environment to gain first-hand experience of working in science policy and of using science and evidence to inform policy advice and decision making. Participants have the opportunity to: •develop networks with policy organisations and officials in areas allied to their research interest; •network with thought leaders in research, industry and policy; •develop understanding of potential routes to achieving research impact. University research fellows and Dorothy Hodgkin fellows who have already completed the first year of their fellowship at the time of application may apply. Those with less than 18 months left of their fellowship at the time of application are not eligible, but applications are discussed on a case-by-case basis and there might be some flexibility allowed. The secondment lasts for three months on a full-time basis or up to nine months on a part-time basis, with at least two days spent at the host organisation. Travel and subsistence costs of up to £3,000 are provided. Participants may extend their fellowship for the duration of the secondment.
