Export as iCalendar

The Royal Society, supported by the Department of Business, Energy and Industrial Strategy, invites nominations for the Rosalind Franklin award and lecture. This recognises an individual’s contribution to any STEM field and supports the promotion of women in STEM in the UK. Nominees must fulfil UK residency requirements such as have been ordinarily resident in the UK throughout the three-year period preceding the date of application for the award and has not been resident therein wholly or mainly for the purposes of full-time education, during any part of that three-year period. There are no restrictions on the age of nominees, but it is anticipated that the award will be made to a recipient within six to 20 years post PhD, with up to 20 years or equivalent postdoctoral experience. Those who have taken a career break will also be considered. They should be actively involved in research at a university, other research institution in the public or private sector, or industry. Self-nominations are not accepted. The award comprises a £1,000 prize and a grant worth up to £40,000 for activities to promote women in STEM in the UK and to support research activities, at least half of which must be spent on implementing the project.
