Ultrasonics Group

Welcome to the Ultrasonics Group webpage.

The Ultrasonics Group

Ultrasound is a powerful technique in solid state physics, materials science and engineering physics. In our research we aim to cover the underlying science involved in a particular ultrasonic measurement technique with the aim that our work ultimately has some use in real world applications. We work together with other Academic and Industrial researchers, and potential end users of the technology. We don't just do ultrasound - see the research details below.

Centre for Industrial UltrasonicsLink opens in a new window

The Centre for Industrial Ultrasonics or CIU consists of a team of over 30 researchers across the Faculty of Science, led by four highly experienced academics who have run a number of very successful, large scale research projects and technology transfer programmes. We were set up to help industrial organisations get access to specialised research expertise and equipment. Click the above link for more info.

You can read more about what we do in the sections below. Click on the image / section header and links in the text for more information.
