Preparing for Research Assessment
Deputy Vice-Chancellor Professor Stuart Palmer explains what steps the University is taking to prepare for the 2008 Research Assessment Exercise (RAE).
Catering Projects – Summer 2004
Kaleidoscope - this project will involve a complete redesign of the layout of the kitchen, service and seating areas. This will mean complete closure of the cafe from 2nd August.
First Foundations
Warwick's first group of Foundation Degree students graduated this summer alongside 101 part-time and full-time 2+2 Degree Programme graduates. Twelve students on the Community Enterprise and Development Foundation Degree, run in partnership with North Warwickshire and Hinckley College, graduated this summer along with one student from the Early Years Foundation Degree.
RAE 2008 - Assessment Methodology and Panel Make - Up
The objective of the RAE is to assess the quality of research taking place in Higher Education Institutions (HEIs) in the UK. Funding is subsequently awarded on a sliding scale of excellence. It is designed to encourage HEIs to improve research standards, and the RAE 2008 will judge a full range of applied and practice-based research.
Warwick Skills Certificate Award Ceremony - Preparing Students for Life After University
On Monday 21 June the Vice-Chancellor, David VandeLinde, attended the Warwick Skills Certificate Annual Awards Ceremony to present certificates to those students who have completed the full certificate this year.

Judging of this year's Bizcom competition took place on June 16th at the University of Warwick. The finalists, from nine West Midlands higher education institutions, presented their business ideas to a panel of five judges including Professor Stephen Hagen from the Warwick-based Mercia Institute of Enterprise.
Structure for the Future - Changes in Senior Officers' Reporting Lines
Jon Baldwin, the University's new Registrar, has been closely involved in University matters for several months having kept abreast of developments before formally starting his new role. A month in to his formal tenure of the post he, along with his colleagues, has decided to make some changes to the roles and responsibilities of his senior team in keeping with the evolving direction of the University.

Heaventree Press Wins Prestigious National Award for Warwick Book
The Heaventree Press has won the Raymond Williams Community Publishing Prize 2004 for its publication of the 'Phoenix New Writing' anthology. The Arts Council of England has awarded the local publishing house £3000 for the collection that was launched last July.
