Warwick Graduate nominated for "Young Social Entrepreneur" Award

Pavel Erochkine, a BSc Economics & International Studies graduate from the University of Warwick, has been nominated for the New Statesman's "Young Social Entrepreneur" Award, one of the 6 UpStart Awards. He is competing with 13 other candidates for the Award, which highlights and rewards individuals with extraordinary vision and a commitment to social enterprise.
Social enterprises strive to generate greater social value in the communities in which they operate by selling goods and services through the market. The Upstarts Awards exist to promote the best of UK social enterprise and spread the idea of social entrepreneurs as a dynamic force for change.
Pavel Erochkine is Director of Transnational Insights Ltd, Research Officer at the Centre for Global Studies and Lord Skidelsky's Research Assistant at the House of Lords. He is also consultant to the Russian Investor Protection Association and a member of the Foundation Council of Our Talents Foundation.
In 2001 he received a Morgan Stanley Prize for Innovative Thinking and Problem Solving and reached the final of the PricewaterhouseCoopers Leaders of Tomorrow Award.
