Minerva Business Angels continues quest to build one of the UK’s best angel networks outside London and the South East
More than 1,000 potential entrepreneurs and investors registered for a series of webinars run by Minerva Business Angels, part of the University of Warwick Science Park, and its Minerva Birmingham partners Aston University Centre for Growth and University of Birmingham Enterprise. The series was targeted at those who may be considering being an investor and companies looking for finance as part of the Minerva Birmingham Pitch Up programme.
£6 million programme extension to help small manufacturers across the Midlands
The programme delivered by the SME Group at WMG, University of Warwick has been a major success in the West Midlands over the last 2 years, helping over 100 companies, develop 71 new products and processes, from automation and productivity plans through to the zero emission technologies of tomorrow. The team have been awarded a further £6m from to take them through to March 2023, meaning the team has gone from a 2 year £5m programme, to an £11m 5 ½ year programme. This extension will enable the team to operate from Wolverhampton and Worcestershire in the West, to Loughborough and Luton in the East Midlands.
Minerva Business Angels head recognised with Barclays Entrepreneur Award
Alex Toft, Head of Minerva Business Angels, part of the University of Warwick Science Park, has been named a Barclays Entrepreneur Awards Regional Icon. The awards are made to individuals who are local thought leaders of influence, who actively contribute to the development of the local entrepreneurial ecosystem, and who inspire others.
