Secretary of State views work to complete £150 million Centre that will help deliver UK Industrial strategy

The Rt Hon Greg Clark MP, the Secretary of State for Business, Energy and Industrial Strategy, visited WMG, at the University of Warwick, on Friday 20th January 2016, taking up an invitation to see for himself the work underway to complete the new £150 million National Automotive Innovation Centre on the University Campus. He also saw the work expanding WMG’s Energy Innovation Centre which provides a one-stop-shop for the development of new battery chemistries to create advanced batteries for the automotive sector.

University of Warwick computing technology spin out company sold in £18m deal

ARM Ltd, the world’s leading semiconductor IP company, has just purchased a company developed out of high performance computing research at the University of Warwick in an £18 million pound deal.

Brexit would harm the UK's inward investment

Leaving the European Union would see foreign direct investment into the UK drop dramatically, taking four years to recover and remaining at a reduced level in the long-term.

That is the finding of new research from Warwick Business School which looked at the short-term and long-term impact of policy changes and external shocks on foreign direct investment (FDI) into the UK from 1963 to 2014.

Major motoring developments crown Coventry’s 120 year Motor City legacy

Two major investments in the automotive industry in Coventry will create world class facilities for the automotive industry in a resurgent “Motor City” Coventry, and both will be built in the year that will mark 120 years of motor manufacturing history in the City. The first British motor car was made in Coventry in 1897 by The Daimler Motor Company Limited but the company that is playing a central role in Coventry’s resurgence as a “Smart Motor City” is Jaguar Land Rover who is key to two major motor developments in the city both of which will be complete, or well underway, by 2017.


£1.2m gives HAT a HALL to help research how individuals can better use their own personal data

EPSRC awards £1.2m funding to WMG, University of Warwick together with partner universities Cambridge, Surrey and UWE to create the HAT Living Labs.
