BP Chief Executive to give public lecture on globalisation at University of Warwick

BP PLC Group Chief Executive Lord Browne of Madingley is to give a free public lecture at the University of Warwick on Wednesday 31st October at 5.30pm in the main lecture theatre of the University's Ramphal Building. The lecture is free and open to all.

University of Warwick wins £8 Million Government Funding to Support its Links with Business

The University of Warwick has been awarded £8 million as part of a government programme giving an extra £120 million to UK universities and colleges. The awards have been made as part of the Government's Knowledge Exploitation Funding programme, comprising the Higher Education Innovation Fund (HEIF), Science Enterprise Challenge (SEC), University Challenge (UC), and the Public Sector Research Exploitation Fund (PSRE Fund). The main fund - HEIF - is aimed at supporting the continuing development of the capacity in universities to interact with business and the community.

5 Million Pounds for Warwick from 60 Million Pound Government Manufacturing Initiative

Science Minister Lord Sainsbury has announced the creation of 12 'Innovative Manufacturing Research Centres' based in academic institutions across the UK and backed by 60 million pounds sterling government cash. The Manufacturing Group at the University of Warwick will recieve approx 5 million pounds of this cash.

Warwick Economists Gain 5th Perfect Teaching Quality Score

Teaching quality inspectors have awarded the University of Warwick's Department of Economics a perfect score of 24 points out of 24 for the quality of teaching. This is the University of Warwick's fifth perfect score of 24 points out of 24 (the other departments to gain this score being Sociology, Theatre Studies, Physics and Warwick's Education Departments (Continuing Education, CELTE, and the Institute of Education).
