New Research Says Unemployment Matters Twice as Much as Inflation to Voters

Jobs, not a low rate of inflation, should be the primary concern of a government. That is the finding from new research done at The University of Warwick that studied more than a quarter of a million people.

New Report Predicts a Decade of Sustained Low Unemployment With 2 Million More New Jobs by 2010

A new report by the Institute for Employment Research at the University of Warwick predicts that the decade leading up to 2010 is expected to bring 2 million additional jobs to the UK, sustaining the UK's historically low level of unemployment.

New Research finds that Unemployed men face up to a 14% "wage Penalty" on return to Employment

New research by Dr Wiji Arulampalam of the Department of Economics at the University of Warwick shows that UK men who undergo a spell of unemployment face a "wage penalty" of about 6% on subsequent re-entry into employment, and that after three years, they will actually earn around 14% less compared to what they would have received in the absence of any period of unemployment.

2nd highest Year Ever for Robot Sales as UK Manufacturers Snap up Cheaper Easy to Use Robots

New figures for robot sales to industry, released today (Thursday 17th May) by the British Automation and Robot Association based at the University of Warwick, show that the year 2000 saw the second highest number ever (1538) of robots sold to UK companies.

Prepayment Meters - a Solution, Not a Problem

Prepayment meters for electricity and gas using a charge card or key are unpopular with some policy makers and consumer lobby groups, as failure to charge the card or key results in self disconnection. However, new research carried out by Warwick Business School and the University of East Anglia on behalf of the Electricity Association Fuel Poverty Task Force, shows that this form of payment remains popular with low income customers.
