But what drives people’s love of new flavours and willingness to experiment? Dr Mandy Sadan, Associate Professor in the Global Sustainable Development (GSD) Department, will explore ‘Flavour in the Making of Modern Britain’ thanks to the award of a Major Research Fellowship from the Leverhulme Trust.

New podcast series explores consent in legal history and in courtrooms today

A new podcast series commissioned by legal historian Dr Laura Lammasniemi explores the history of sexual consent and asks whether understanding that history can help tackle present-day problems in securing convictions for sexual offences. The Age of Consent features thirteen expert voices, from academics to rape crisis workers and journalists, invited by Dr Lammasniemi to bring their own perspectives to the conversation.

Eleven young researchers selected to help Warwick deliver ambitious research strategy

The University of Warwick has been chosen to host eleven of 2019’s Leverhulme Early Career Fellows – just under ten per cent of the national total. Early Career Fellowships are awarded to enable young researchers to undertake a research project, under the supervision of a Warwick academic mentor, which will lead to publishable results and help them get a foothold on the academic career ladder.
