How and when you will find out your results depends on your type of course and level of study (e.g. if you are an intermediate or final year student). This page will take you through the key results information to help ensure you know what to expect, including:

Postgraduate Taught Students (awards only) - Thursday 4th December 2025
Postgraduate Taught Students (awards only) - Friday 26th June 2026
International Foundation Programme students - Friday 3rd July 2026
Undergraduate Finalist students - Thursday 9th July 2026
Undergraduate First Year students - Thursday 16th July 2026
Undergraduate Intermediate Year students - Thursday 23rd July 2026

*Main winter (late November/early December) and summer (late June/early July) exam board periods only. If your course dates fall outside the main exam board periods, please see the 'How will I be notified?' section below.

How will I be notified?

I'm an undergraduate student

If you are an undergraduate, you will receive your results through Tabula.

Results for first-year, intermediate, and finalist students will be made available in Tabula on different days following the main summer exam period (see the list of dates at the top of this page).

You will ONLY receive a separate email from Student Records with further information if:

You have not been awarded your qualification;
You are required to be reassessed;
You have been offered optional reassessments.

I'm a taught postgraduate student

If you are a taught postgraduate student, your academic department are responsible for letting you know your results, as exam boards are held at different points throughout the year for different courses. However, you will receive an official confirmation email from the Student Records team following approval of your exam board outcome.

There are also two centrally-coordinated results release dates for postgraduate awards conferred during the main exam board periods. This is usually the day after a Senate Sub-Group meeting (the committee responsible for officially approving exam board outcomes), on which Student Records will begin sending official conferral emails to students who have received an award. Your department will normally let you know your results earlier, including details of any reassessments or extensions you may require, but at this stage your results will be provisional.

If you have not received an award, require reassessments, or have been granted an extension for specific work, you will receive an email from Student Records with further details at a later date.

I'm a postgraduate research student I'm a visiting exchange student

The majority of visiting exchange students will receive their results in the same way as other students at their level of study (for undergraduates, this will be along with intermediate years). However, some academic departments will hold exam boards for visiting students outside of the main exam board periods. If in any doubt, please check with your academic department.

I'm none of the above (short courses, non-degree or postgraduate level)

International Foundation Programme students will receive their results through Tabula as per the date shown in the list at the top of this page.

If you are on any other short, non-degree, or postgraduate level programme, please check your results release dates with your academic department or programme coordinator. This includes:

Pre-Sessional English;
In-Sessional English;
Warwick Global Academy short courses;
Warwick Summer School.

What information will be included with my results?

I'm an undergraduate student

Finalists

If successful, the qualification you have been awarded and the classification of that award (e.g. First-Class Honours)
If no award has been approved, the details of any reassessments you will need to take before you can be awarded your qualification.
If you have been offered any optional reassessments for modules you have not passed, i.e. reassessments that you may wish to take try and improve your overall mark/award classification.

First/intermediate year students

The decision taken by your exam board on whether you can progress to the next level of study or not.
The details of any reassessments you are required to take before you can progress to the next year/level of study.
If you have been offered any optional reassessments for modules you have not passed and may wish to take to improve your overall mark.

Results will always include the final overall mark you achieved in each module taken in the current academic year.

I'm a taught postgraduate student

If successful, the award you have been conferred, the classification for that award (e.g. Distinction), and the official date of conferral.
If you have not been awarded your qualification, the date on which you are deemed to have withdrawn from your course.
If you have any outstanding study-related debts that must be cleared in order to graduate/receive your certificate.

I'm a postgraduate research student

What do I need to do if I have been offered 'optional reassessments'?

If you have been offered optional reassessments, you will need to confirm whether you wish to take them by completing the relevant optional resit form. If you have been offered multiple optional reassessments, you may choose to take only some of them. It is important you confirm your choices, as your choice may affect whether you will be able to progress to your next year/level of your course or graduate.

Reassessments are held in the September examination period. If you are offered further optional reassessments following September exams, these will be at the next available opportunity and without residence (i.e. you will be assessed again in the summer of the following year).

Find out how you can confirm your choices below, depending on whether you are a finalist or non-finalist student:

I'm a finalist student

You must complete the Optional Resit Form for Finalists. A link to this form will also be included in Tabula in your results information. The deadline for completion can be found at the top of the form.

If you decide to take any of the optional reassessments you have been offered, you will not be able to graduate until such reassessments have been completed.

If you do not complete the form by the deadline, it will be assumed that you do not wish to take the reassessments and will graduate as expected.

I'm a non-finalist student

Non-finalist students are automatically registered for optional reassessments. If you do not wish to take them (all or some), you must complete the Optional Resit Form for Non-Finalists. A link to this form will be included within your results information in Tabula. The deadline for completion can be found at the top of the form.

If you choose to opt out of reassessments, you can ignore any entries in your personal timetable relating to those reassessments.

When will my HEAR be updated to show my results?

I'm an undergraduate student I'm a taught postgraduate student

What if I want to appeal my result?

Details of the University's academic appeal procedures are available at Appeals. Please note that any appeal must be submitted within 10 University Working Days of the date of publication of your results.
