Living at Westwood/Claycroft

The dual residence option allows postgraduates to book accommodation that may involve a move from Westwood to Claycroft during the 2026/2027 academic year. Students should be aware of the higher rent at Claycroft should relocation occur.

The information below forms a key part of the Westwood/Claycroft dual residence offer. They explain essential details about the possible move to Claycroft, potential rent increases, and how flatmate and kitchen groups may be affected if a move takes place.

Students must read and understand this information before considering and booking this accommodation option.

What accommodation am I booking? Will I have to move? Will I move with the same kitchen group if the move to Claycroft goes ahead?

If the move to Claycroft goes ahead, we will do our best to keep students together in similar kitchen groups wherever possible. We understand that kitchen groups are an important part of the postgraduate living experience and will aim to minimise disruption.

However, kitchen sizes and layouts differ between Westwood and Claycroft, which means it may not be possible to keep all students in exactly the same kitchen group arrangements. As a result, some groups may change in size, and some students may be allocated to a different kitchen group after the move.

What will my rent be after the move? What if Claycroft isn’t ready in Term 2? Will I get support during the move? Do I need to sign two contracts? Can I choose to stay in Westwood instead of moving? Will my room in Claycroft match my room in Westwood? How much notice will I get before moving?

At Westwood, we are surrounded by some lovely green spaces, have a common room and launderette within each of the block, have massive rooms and nice big windows to let lots of light in, are ridiculously close to the local Tesco...Need I go on?

Beth, Maths and Physics

Westwood is in many ways hugely convenient in its location and proximity to facilities. Cannon Park Shopping Centre, where most Warwick students do their grocery shopping, is literally 5 minutes walk from Westwood!

Olivia, Theatre and Performance Studies

Being the closest residence to Tesco, Claycroft is slightly further away from central campus, but only just. The bathrooms are shared between two students and the kitchens, eight. Rent is very reasonable. I personally love the little grassy area outside.
