About the 'Student Conduct: What you need to know' course

All students at Warwick are required to complete the university’s "Student Conduct: What you need to know" course, which is designed to support a respectful, inclusive, and safe community for everyone.

The online course introduces the key principles of dignity, respect and shared values that guide behaviour and interactions across our university. It includes practical guidance, reflective activities, and resources to help you understand your role in fostering a welcoming environment. The course also focuses on key issues of consent, relationships, and freedom of speech.

Important update for UG and PGR students (11/09/2025):

The course is now open to all UGs, Foundation Year students, and all PGRs.

You will receive a notification about the course with the link to your Warwick email (check spam/junk).

If by the end of the day Tuesday 16th September, you believe you haven't received the link, please complete this formLink opens in a new window and we will be in touch. The form is not for PGT students.

Your course will appear in the 'Mandatory' training tab on your Moodle: All courses | Moodle@Warwick.

You can sign-up to Welcome Week events even if you have not completed the Moodle course yet, but we recommend you complete it by the start of term so you have all the key information you need.

Important update for PGTs (11/09/25)

Newly enrolled PGTs will have access to the 'Student Conduct: What you need to know' course from early October 2025. You will be alerted by email once the course is live.

Your enrolment will not be affected by this delay and you can still sign-up to Welcome week events even if you have not completed the Moodle course yet.

> Do I have to complete the course if I am studying abroad or on a placement year?

Yes. The course contains information relevant to your year abroad.

> Some of the content is already familiar to me. Do I still need to complete it?

Yes. This course is designed to support students at all levels of knowledge and understanding. You may find that some topics feel familiar while others are new or less explored. Engaging fully with each part is important, as it helps us build a shared foundation and ensures everyone can move forward with a clear understanding of the key concepts.

> The pop-up is not working. What can I do?

  • It is recommended that you complete this online course via either a desktop PC, laptop, or mobile tablet, as some of the interactive slides can be difficult to complete on a smartphone.
  • A pop-up warning box may appear. Please allow for pop-ups in your browser to enter the course, which will then open in a new window.
  • If you need further guidance on how to enable pop-ups, please visit here.

> Do I need to let anyone know I have completed the course?

No, we can track completion via the Moodle system.

> Can I re-visit the course if I need to?

Yes, you can access the course as you need to, even if you have completed it. It sits in the 'mandatory' tab of your Moodle platform.

> I have clicked the link in my email and it says I am not enrolled. What should I do?

Check the 'mandatory' tab of your Moodle platform (All courses | Moodle@Warwick). Contact weact@warwick.ac.uk if you still need help.

> Do I need to complete the course all in one go?

No, your progress is saved and you can come back to complete as needed. We recommend that you complete the course before term starts, so you have the key information you need.
