Diversity & Decolonisation in Mathematics Conference

Summary: On 24th and 25th April 2025, the Mathematics Institute hosted their first ever Diversity and Decolonisation in Mathematics conference.

Psychology Ideathon 2024

Summary: The Department of Psychology held the Ideathon in December 2024. This was a free, immersive 2-day event with targeted workshops, practicals and support for undergraduate and postgraduate psychology students. Students worked in small teams to develop innovative solutions to a real-world health and wellbeing challenge.
CUWiP+ 2025

Summary: The Physics department hosted this year's Conference for Undergraduate Women and Non-Binary Physicists (in partnership with the Institute of Physics). This event showcased inspiring speakers, held interactive workshops, and offered networking opportunities for all participants, with the aim of encouraging women and non-binary physicists to remain in the field.

Decolonise the Curriculum Working Group

Summary: The Decolonising the Curriculum Working Group (DCWG) was initially set up in early 2018 (formerly the Liberated Curriculum Working Group), with the aim of seeking to make PAIS’s teaching more diverse and inclusive.

SEM Faculty EDI Festival

Summary: A SEM faculty event to enable staff to build their confidence in practicing inclusive teaching. This event brought together people from across the university to explore how we embed EDI more effectively in our teaching, research, and campus culture.

Equitea Forum

Summary: Equitea is a forum within the Astronomy and Astrophysics group to discuss topics related to equity, diversity and inclusion (ED&I) in Astronomy, Physics and STEM as a whole. It was created with the goal of fostering a more inclusive space for all staff and students by encouraging conversations about the diversity of experiences of people in academia.
