Warwickshire County Councils contractor has informed us that a further extension on the road closure on Stoneleigh Road is required. This will have a knock-on effect for the proposed Dalehouse Lane closures. The current prosed dates for these closures are now.

Stoneleigh Road Closures 

Closures are proposed to allow the safe construction of the connection to the existing and new roads.

This closure will take place from 30th January until 6th March. Closure will be in place between Dalehouse Lane and Kings Hill Lane.

Dalehouse Lane Closures 

Closures are proposed to allow the safe construction of the connection to the existing and new roads.

This closures will take place on 4th March & 5th March. Closure will be in place at Stoneleigh Road.

Warwickshire County Council recognise these closures are likely to continue cause some disruption in the surrounding area in the short term, but these are required to ensure the works are carried out safely for both members of the public and their workforce.

Phase 1, Northbound
14 February to 25 February 2023.
Time – 8pm to 6am
HS2 will be working overnight Monday to Friday for two weeks. The works will involve reducing the lanes on the A46 to a single lane on the northbound carriageway between; the Thickthorn Interchange (Leamington) and the Stoneleigh Junction. There will be no restrictions in place over the weekends.

Phase 2, Southbound
20 February to 25 February 2023.
8pm to 6am
The Northbound works will continue during phase 2 with the addition of southbound works. The works will involve reducing the lanes on the A46 to a single lane on the southbound carriageway between; Festival Island (A45) and Thickthorn (Leamington). HS2 will need to close the southbound slip road onto the A46 from the Stoneleigh junction. There will be a full diversion in place heading north to Festival Island (A45) and returning southbound on the A46.

Warwickshire County Council have approved a road closure of Stoneleigh Road (between Kings Hill lane and Dalehouse roundabout) for the final works to complete the connection with the new road alignment and the A46 Stoneleigh Junction island improvement scheme. Diversion routes will be in place, this is likely to impact journey times to and from campus, please allow for additional travel time whilst this closure is in place.

Warwickshire County Council is advising residents of temporary road works on the A46, which will allow for the moving of the new bridge deck into position.

To allow this move to take place, closures will be in place along the A46 between 17 January and 22 January. On the stated days, diversion routes will be well-signposted throughout.

As part of the A46 Stoneleigh Junction Improvement Scheme, WCC are planning on closing the existing A46 Bridge at the Stoneleigh Junction for a period of 5 weeks from the 21st November.
