Vibration surveys for Car Parks 9 & 10: Week commencing 13th May

Starting w/c 13th May for four weeks we will be undertaking a vibration survey in car park 10.

The survey will be testing ambient traffic vibration from Gibbet Hill Road and Lord Bhattacharyya Way.

To assist with the survey there will be a camera in Physical Sciences to monitor car park 10 - this is to show the movements near the survey pits at specific times which will show any abnormal vibration. No personal data relating to vehicles will be recorded.

To enable the survey, there will be four locations, on the grass areas, which will have hoarding placed around for the duration of the survey. Additionally, two car park spaces will be taken out of use.

Through the duration of the survey you may see people on site who are working on the survey.

The work will not affect how entrance or exit for car parks 9 and 10.

A46 Mainline Lane 1 Closure – A46 Mainline Lane 1 Closure both North and South bound: Wednesday 24th April to Sunday 11th August 2024

On the morning of Wednesday 24th April 2024 the A46 will be reduce to two lanes between Stonebridge Highway Junction(Thickthorn) and the Kenilworth Road Junction (Stivichall). This is to allow the scheme to progress safely while contractors is working in the verges. The lane closures will remain in place until the evening of Sunday 11th August 2024. Due to the reduction in road capacity please expect delays during peak times. Full overnight closures will be in place over the first two nights and final two nights to allow the safe installation of the traffic management, a signed diversion will be in place for the full closures.

 

In addition to these works, HS2 are constructing the A46 Box structure and will complete preparatory works by installing traffic management on the A46 between Thickthorn roundabout and A45 Stivichall Interchange. This traffic management is a combination of lane restrictions and overnight carriageway closures between May and October followed by a closure in early 2025 to install the new structure. Car Park 15 partial closures & updates

To support essential electrical distribution board upgrades within Car Park 15Link opens in a new window, car parking bays will be limited within the car park to levels where lighting power is available.

The following locations will be closed for approximately 1 week over a 3-week period:

Week 22/04/2024 – 28/04/2024

Floors affected/closed:

2, 2A, 3, 3A

Week 29/04/2024 – 05/05/2024

Floors affected/closed:

1, 1A, 1x Stairwell

Week 06/05/2024 – 12/05/2024

Floors affected/closed:

G, GA, 1x Stairwell

A new EV charging scheme and increase of EV bays on campus will be coming this summer.

Temporary closure of Car Park 12: Sunday 17th March - Monday 8th April

Between Sunday 17th March - Monday 8th April, Car Park 12 (adjacent to the Athletics track) will be closed in order to resurface the car park. Alternative parking can be found in Car Park 13 (next to the Tennis Centre), or Kirby Corner Car Park for staff and visitors.
