Breathing Space launch

In response to student feedback, a ~£4m project to refurbish the main Library took place over summer 2021. The project included the development of a new space to support student wellbeing – the Breathing Space.

Located on the first floor of the main Library building which is usually open 24 hours a day, the Breathing Space is available to those wishing to take a break from study throughout the day and night. It offers a quiet space for students to manage their wellbeing by taking take time out to relax, re-focus and ultimately be more effective in their studies.

The space will also house a growing collection of leisure reading materials, and some of the Library’s Study Happy events supporting wellbeing will take place here.

The space is now open.
