Click & Collect

Our new Click & Collect service for Warwick students and staff is now available. There is also a new returns station available at the main Library building.

How it works

Warwick students and staff can order up to 10 books from off our shelves using the online form, and then pick them up from the new collection point at the main Library when they are ready.

The collection point will be open between 11am and 3pm, Tuesday to Thursday.

  • Pre-order up to 10 books using our online form
  • Behind the scenes, we will fetch the books and issue them to your MyLibrary account
  • You will receive an email notification to your Warwick email address when your books are ready for collection. The email will include a collection date and order number. Please be aware that it may take us a few days to process your request
  • We will hold your books for 1 week after your collection notification has been sent. If your books are not collected by this time, they will be re-shelved

Collect

  • The collection point is located outside the main entrance to the Library and is open 11am to 3pm, Tuesday to Thursday
  • When you visit the collection point, follow the queue signage and practice social distancing to keep everyone safe. The queuing system and collection point are outdoors so please wear appropriate clothing
  • When you get to the collection point, inform the staff member of your collection number
  • Your books will then be placed on the desk for you to pick up

  • Check your Mylibrary account to see when your books are due for return.
  • If you will be studying at Warwick next year, please keep your books until you come back to campus

  • A new returns bin is located near the entrance of the main Library. You can return your books to the bin at any time

  • The Library team will change the bin daily, but the contents will not be touched for 72 hours for quarantine reasons. Therefore, it may take up to a week for your books to be taken off your Library account
  • We know things have been challenging, so we are pleased to tell you that we are not currently charging fines on any items and have not done so since 18th March. However, you will still receive automated courtesy and overdue notices if an item becomes overdue 

Please remember, that when you collect or return books, you won’t be able to enter the Library building, and therefore will not have access to:

  • Toilets
  • Amazon lockers
  • Vending
  • Café
  • ITS

Please note: The nearest toilets and baby changing facilities which are available are located at University House.

 FAQs

Currently, Click and Collect services are available to registered Warwick students and staff. Those with membership via the SCONUL Access Scheme are unable to request items. We will keep this under regular review and hope to be able to welcome back the wider membership of the library as soon as possible.

You can use the online form. If you have problems accessing or completing the form, please email us at library at warwick dot ac dot uk.

You can request up to 10 items at any one time.

We will email you at your Warwick email address and give you a timeframe (up to 7 days) to collect.

We want to help you as quickly as possible. We anticipate that you will be able to collect books within 7 days (excluding weekends) after ordering, but please remember books can only be collected on Tuesday, Wednesday or Thursday between 11 am and 3 pm.

You will be notified via your Warwick email and given a timeframe for collection – please do not come to the Library to collect your books if you haven’t received an email from us. Please bring your University card with you.

  • Please observe social distancing guidelines at all times when collecting items and we would strongly recommend you to wear a mask or face covering
  • A one-way queuing system will be in operation with separate entry and exit routes
  • Please follow all signage and guidance from Library staff
  • The books for collection will have been issued to your MyLibrary account

To ensure everyone’s health and safety, the service is a doorstep only service and the Library buildings remain closed for general use.

Yes. They must request the books and await a confirmation email. You will need to know their name and university ID number so we can ensure we give you the right books. If possible we would appreciate it if you can bring their University Card.

Students will be able to borrow all items until the first week in October, or until their membership expires, whichever is sooner. Staff loans will be issued until July 2021.

Use Library Search. We have 67,000 eJournals and 1.1 million eBooks available for use 24/7. Use the search filters on the left of your search results to filter results to ebooks.

Alternative formats: if, because of a disability, you require an alternative format of a Library resource you can request this through the University’s Disability Services. If you wish to request alternative format requests please email disability at warwick dot ac dot uk to discuss your requirements.

RNIB Bookshare: is an online Library catalogue for print-disabled leaners, including those with dyslexia or those are blind or partially sighted. Visit Disability Services RNIB to check eligibility and request access.

All items should be returned via the book return point located by the Main Library entrance on the Ground Floor. This return point is available 24/7.

All returned items will be quarantined for at least 72 hours before their return is processed. 

The safety of Library users and Library staff is extremely important to us and has been carefully considered and planned as our services on campus re-start. We have worked with our University colleagues to develop our Covid 19 Safety Guidelines and ensure we can operate our services safely.

  • We will notify you with a collection email so we can ensure it is possible to practise social distancing at our collection point. One way systems will be in operation
  • We are minimising handling of books and all other materials
  • Please do not use anti-bacterial wipes/sanitiser on any Library books as this may cause damage
  • If you are experiencing any symptoms associated with coronavirus, please do not come to the Library
  • Toilets and baby changing facilities available at University House

  • Please note: there is no access to study space, printing facilities, cafes or toilets near the collection point or available in the Main Library
  • During busier periods, you may have to queue outside – bring an umbrella just in case!

Safety measures

A number of safety measures are in place:

  • Socially distanced queuing system
  • Socially distanced collection point
  • Nobody will be browsing the shelves, so no one will be touching the books until they are borrowed
  • Books will be quarantined for a minimum of 72 hours after they’re returned to the shelves to ensure infection control
  • Skeleton staff of 8 behind the scenes to minimise touch points
  • Staff have been trained to regularly wash hands
  • You’ll receive a ready to collect notice, and we’ll hold your items for a working week after that. Your items will not be touched during this period by staff. Whilst staff have taken every precaution to minimise contact with books, if you want to build in an extra quarantine period, you could collect 72 hours after receiving your notification to ensure the only person to touch your book before you will be the member of staff at the collection point
