Click and Collect service

The main Library building is open for study, browsing the collection, self-service loans, book returns, or access to other Library services. If you wish to minimise your time in the Library or would like Library staff to pick your items for you, please use Click and Collect.

How it works

Customers can order book from our shelves using the Click and Collect function from Library Search, and then pick them up from the Click and Collect collection point on Floor 1 at the main Library when they are ready. Collection may take up to 48 hours.

The collection point will be open 24hrs.

Click

  • Pre-order books using the Click and Collection function available in Library Search and Library Classic Catalogue
  • You will receive an email notification to your email address when your books are ready for collection. The email will detail how to collect your items and where to check them out to yourself. Please be aware that it may take up to 48 hours to process your request. You can check if your request has been successful
    • Request the material as usual by clicking on the click and collect button. You should get the message below:
    • Press the Click and Collect button above and you will then receive the message below on screen:
    • To double check your request has gone through you can check your My Library Account. Click on requests and it will show what has gone through. You will also get an email when the item is ready to collect. The image shows the My Library requests screen. See more on Library accounts.
  • We will hold your books for 4 days after your collection notification has been sent. If your books are not collected by this time, they will be re-shelved

Collect

  • The collection point for your Click and Collect can be found on Floor 1
  • When you get to the collection point, material will be shelved under classmark order and a self-issue kiosk will be available to check out your books

Return 

  • Check your My Library Account to see when your books are due for return
  • Books can be returned via the returns machine on floor 1 of the Library

Click & Collect services are available to all current staff and students of the University of Warwick.

 I am not a student of the University of Warwick, can I still use Click and Collect?

Unfortunately non-warwick staff/students will be unable to use the functionality within Library Search for Click and Collect. You can however use a Click and Collect form where you would need to add the books you require. Please can use the online request.

Once you have found the item you require on Library Search, click the ‘Click and Collect’ button and this will send the request through to us. You can use the online request. If you have problems accessing this functionality please email us at library at warwick dot ac dot uk.

You can request up to 10 items at any one time.

We will email you at your Warwick email address and give you a time frame (up to 4 days) to collect.

We want to help you as quickly as possible. You will be able to collect books within 48 hours after ordering, You can collect your books 24 hours, Monday to Sunday. Please do not try and collect your books before you receive the notification that they are ready.

You will be notified via your email and given a time frame for collection – please do not come to the Library to collect your books if you haven’t received an email from us. Please bring your University card with you so you can check your books out yourself using the self-issue machines.

The books for collection will have been placed on hold for you and will be shelved in classmark order for you to pick up and check out using the self-issue machines.

Yes. They must request the books and await a confirmation email. You will need have the confirmation email we send to them as this will provide the details of the books you need to collect and their classmarks. If possible we would appreciate it if you can bring their University Card.

Students will be able to borrow all items until their membership expires, whichever is sooner. Staff loans will be issued until July 2021.

 I can’t get to the Library – how can I get books/items?

Use Library Search. We have 67,000 e-Journals and 1.1 million e-books available for use 24/7. Use the search filters on the left of your search results to filter results to e-books.

Postal Loans: a free Postal Loans service is available for current Warwick staff and students, with the service taking up to 10 days to deliver your book.

Scan and deliver: allows current staff and students to request an individual scanned copy of one chapter (or 5%) of a book or one article per issue of a journal from the Library’s collections, subject to copyright permissions. The scan will be emailed to the your email address and is provided only for personal use for educational purposes.

Alternative formats: if, because of a disability, you require an alternative format of a Library resource you can request this through the University’s Disability Services. If you wish to request alternative format requests please email disability at warwick dot ac dot uk to discuss your requirements.

RNIB Bookshare: is an online Library catalogue for print-disabled learners, including those with dyslexia or those are blind or partially sighted. Visit Disability Services RNIB to check eligibility and request access.

All items should be returned via the book returns machine. This is located on floor 1 of the Library and available 24 hours.
