Revised research integrity Concordat - Don’t miss consultation deadline!

A revised version of the Concordat to support research integrity is currently out for consultation. Universities UK is seeking the views and input of researchers, employers of researchers and funders of research. The consultation focusses on whether the expectations set out in the concordat are clear and proportionate.

What is the Concordat?

First published in 2012, the existing Concordat provides a comprehensive national framework for good research conduct and its governance.

Why is it being revised?

A recommendation from the recent House of Commons Science and Technology Research Integrity Inquiry was to tighten the Concordat so that compliance could be more easily assessed. The revised concordat clarifies expectations of researchers, funders of research and employers of researchers. It will also require institutions to submit information to the secretariat of the signatories of the Concordat so that implementation of the commitments can be monitored.

Where can I access the consultation?

The consultation can be found here.

When does the consultation close?

The consultation closes on Friday 5 April 2019.

Further information can be found on the website.
