What made you sign up for the Warwick Award? What was the appeal?

I thought the Award would help keep me accountable for tracking my progress and areas of improvement. Which it successfully did! It encouraged me to reflect on the purpose and impact of my experiences, pushing me to think more deeply about the skills and growth I gained from each project and role.

How have you managed to balance developing your skills through the Award with your studies?

I believe being a well-rounded individual is the pinnacle of success, and the Award helped me turn this belief into a reality. For example, the point system credits activities based on the skills developed and the quality of your written reflections. This motivated me to structure my time in projects more intentionally; to be clearer and more purposeful in what I was doing. Ultimately, the Award helped me develop a more efficient and organised approach to my use of time when balancing commitments.

What are some activities you’ve completed that have contributed towards your Award progress? What sort of skills did they help you develop?

I am grateful to have had such a wide range of experiences during my time at Warwick. From serving as Treasurer of the Warwick Bar Society, to volunteering with my law clinic for an NGO, and collaborating on many projects focused on student careers outreach, mediation building, mentoring, and more. I have consistently pushed myself to try new things which have helped me develop a broad range of skills, particularly improving my professionalism, communication, self-awareness, teamwork, and leadership abilities.

How did it feel when you achieved the Gold Award?

Achieving the Gold Award was an encouraging moment, recognising the 300+hours I dedicated to various initiatives and teams. Through these experiences, I learnt a great deal about different fields, myself, and others. The Award reminded me to recognise my little wins along the way.

How useful do you think your achievements in the Warwick Award will be when you think about life after graduation?

Incredibly useful. The Award recognises my efforts I have put into developing both my character and skills. This will be valuable in the next chapter of my life, helping me approach new challenges and environments with professionalism, adaptability, and a strong sense of awareness of my impact.

What would you say to any new students who are thinking about signing up for the Award?

If you are someone who wants to make the most of your time at Warwick- not just to earn a degree, but to gain a diverse range of experiences that help you become a more confident and well-rounded individual. Then the Warwick Award will encourage you to curate your personal brand more efficiently, while recognising your progress professionally.
