Your Support Network
Warwick has a wide range of staff and services ready to support you at any stage of your journey here. This page shows you who to contact for different types of support and what teams and services are available to you. If you're ever unsure, always ask a member of staff in your department - they can point you in the right direction.
Karolina, Undergraduate Law
The academic staff in your department are your first point of contact for course-related questions - from module selection to academic advice. Their details will be on your department's webpages.
Office Hours
Academic staff have set office hours. These are scheduled times when you can drop in to ask questions or get support. You can often find these listed on your department's webpages or on Moodle (or my.wbs for WBS students). Some staff require that you book office hours - so if you're unsure if you need to book, check with them.
Joint Honours student or taking External Modules?
Your main support will come from your ‘home’ department. Your allocated ‘home’ department will be communicated to you.
Personal Tutoring: Support throughout your studies

"Personal tutors play a very important role in supporting all of our students to thrive. I would encourage you to engage with your personal tutor and to access all of the wonderful support we have here at Warwick."
Dr David Lees, Dean of Students
What is a Personal Tutor?
Your Personal Tutor is your key contact in your department, here to support you throughout your studies. Details of who your Personal Tutor are in Tabula, or my.wbs for Warwick Business School students.
What can I talk to my Personal Tutor about?
You can discuss settling in, your academic development and assignment feedback, choosing modules and study or employability skills you'd like to develop.
How do Personal Tutorials work?
These are one-to-one or small group meetings. But remember, even if you have small group meetings with your Personal Tutorial, you can request a 1-1 catch up with them if needed.
How often should I meet with them?
At least once a term, but you can contact them any time if you have any questions, are facing academic or wellbeing issues, or are finding university life challenging in any way. They're here to help you when you need it.

Casie’s student tip: "Reflect before your meeting and think about what you’d like to discuss. Bring any relevant materials (like assignment feedback) on your laptop, tablet, or printed out. This is your time to get tailored support - so be open, honest, and proactive. Some departments may ask you to complete a reflection form beforehand - even if they don’t, it’s worth doing!"
