Celebrating Black Excellence: Black History Month at Warwick Arts Centre
At Warwick Arts Centre, our commitment to showcasing and uplifting Black artists, producers, and emerging talents is central to our programming and mission. This Black History Month, we take the opportunity to highlight some of the extraordinary work of Black visionaries who have left an indelible mark on the arts and culture landscape.

Students' Union events and activities
Throughout October and November, the Students' Union is hosting events and activities to mark Black History Month, including a bead making workshop, an educational stall with your Ethnic Minorities Officer, and A4 and A1 educational posters with 'Sheroes'.The Warwick Student Cinema will be showing various film screenings; see the calendar of films below.
Vanley Burke
The University of Warwick has acquired five portraits by photographer, Vanley Burke. These photographs will become an integral part of the University's art collection and are a poignant addition as Black History Month draws to a close.
Vanley Burke is a prominent photographer and a key part of the West Midlands’ artistic and cultural scene. His images have been exhibited worldwide and celebrated for their ability to offer a glimpse into the lives of diverse communities.
