Holocaust Memorial Day

We are commemorating Holocaust Memorial Day with a series of events to honour the victims of the Holocaust and reflect on its enduring lessons.

This year’s observance marks 80 years since the liberation of Auschwitz-Birkenau, a powerful reminder of the atrocities of the Holocaust.

Candlelight Vigil: 27 January
We will be holding a space in the Piazza for people to come and light a candle to commemorate the victims of the Holocaust.

Holocaust survivor - A talk with Mindu Hornick: 28 January

Attend a talk by JSoc with Mindu Hornick, survivor of the Auschwitz concentration camp. All are welcome, but registrations must be made in advance via the SU website.

Holocaust survivor - A talk with Lesley Urbach: 28 January

The Languages department is hosting a talk with Lesley Urbach who will discuss her family's story of the Holocaust.

Time: 2 - 3.30pm

Location: The Library (Teaching grid, second floor)

Free film screening - Son of Saul: 29 January

Jsoc have organised a free screening of the film 'Son of Saul' in collaboration with Warwick Student Cinema. No bookings required.

Time: 7.30pm
