Explaining more about how Warwick is assessing students fairly in 2021

At the start of term, we published the measures we have introduced to ensure each student is assessed fairly this year. Read more about the Covid Mitigations Package for 2020/21.

To find out more, hear from Gwen Van der Velden, Deputy Pro-Vice-Chancellor (Education) below. Gwen explains our approach and how Warwick will help you achieve your academic goals for the year.

We also thought it might be helpful to hear how your lecturers are implementing the policies. Two academic staff who have a lot of experience of how mitigating circumstances, exam boards, deferrals and other aspects work in practice – for both undergraduate and postgraduate students, have answered some questions you may have:

  • Hear from Dr Cathy Hampton on how mitigating circumstances and deferring assessments are dealt with within academic departments.
  • Hear from Dr Dave Wood on how departments take into account the difficulties Covid has caused for students in their decisions on module marks and consequent decisions about moving into the next year or graduating.
