Studying International Management (BSc) encourages a wide range of relevant, highly transferable and sought-after skills. These help to prepare you for the challenges you will face after university; everything from a career in a multinational corporation to starting and running your own business.

Course overview

This course gives you the opportunity to study or work abroad as part of your degree, while gaining a broad knowledge of business and management. The international element will help develop your ability to operate across cultural boundaries and embrace different perspectives.

You will also have the flexibility to follow either a generalist route in business and management to keep your career options open or specialise in your chosen field by following one of our recognised Pathways in Finance, Digital Innovation, Entrepreneurship or Marketing. You will spend a year learning abroad, with a study placement at one of our partner institutions in countries such as China, Singapore, Japan, Canada, USA, Australia, France, Italy and Spain. Alternatively, you may choose to work overseas. Previously our students have completed work placements with companies such as IBM, Clarins, Peugeot, L'Oréal and Colgate-Palmolive. You will also attend a seminar in Term Two at an appropriate location near to where you are studying or working.

Course structure

We have partnered with over 50 institutions in over 20 countries around the world for your year abroad. Current partnerships are offered in Australia, Canada, China, Hong Kong, Japan, North America, Russia, Singapore, South Korea and various countries across Europe.

In your fourth year you will return to WBS to complete your studies, confident and empowered by your overseas experience.

You can tailor your degree towards your career aspirations by selecting elective modules from WBS and other University of Warwick departments. This provides the opportunity to specialise in a particular area or to take a broader approach to your studies.

"Lots of flexibility"

"When I was applying for my undergraduate degree I wasn’t sure what area of business I wanted to explore. Therefore, I wanted to keep my options open and the BSc International Management course at WBS offered me lots of flexibility with numerous electives in a range of disciplines which suited me perfectly.

Throughout my undergraduate degree my progression each year inspired me to push myself further. At the end of each year, I reflected on what I had learned, and what new skills I developed and this is what kept me motivated and engaged throughout my studies.

I personally believe the key advantage of studying at WBS lies in the international exposure that students receive, and my year abroad studying at Cornell University in New York was definitely one of the highlights of my course."
