Our research specialisms date from the Renaissance period through to the present day.
  • As you enter your first year, you’ll choose between two pathways: Modern History or Renaissance and Modern History. If you choosethe Renaissance and Modern History pathway you will explore the early modern period in greater depth by spending the first term of your final year at our 15th Century Palazzo Pesaro-Papafava in Venice.* Here, you’ll be taught by Warwick staff at our permanent base near the famous Grand Canal. In addition, we offer all our Single-Honours students the opportunity to learn a new language in their first and second years, and you can apply to spend a full year abroad at one of our partner universities. Current students have recently studied at top universities in Europe, the Americas, Asia, and Australia.
*To prepare for the term in Venice, we require our students on this pathway to take Italian language training in the first and second year of their degree.
