Societies' Fair

At Societies' Fair, we'll have a stall in The Copper Rooms, flagged with all the information about how to get involved with the society, not least through how to get started or continue your Gold Award, as well as a brief overview of what we do as a society. We'll answer any questions, especially if you ask us what our favourite biscuit is!

Induction Session

Find out all you need to know about the award and our society! We'll have a more detailed look at how to start or complete your award, as well as the other stuff we do as a society! Event here. Location SUHQ.

Monday 13th October
(Week 3)

Ice Skating At the start of every academic year, we embark onone of the best social experiences. This, for the past few years, has been ice skating, which is always a laugh. Even for the manliest of men. Event here. Meet on the Piazza at 7pm.

Night Hikes

Our ever popular Night Hikes will make a return throughout the term; we'll enjoy an evening walk in the local countryside around campus, frequently followed by some refreshments in a pub.

(Week 4)

Expedition Report Back Watch last year’s expedition participants present back their report on the expedition, plus chat with folks about their expeditions, followed by a meal afterwards. It'll be good fun and the food proper lush. All-You-Can-Eat-Asian-Buffet at Wing-Wah's it is. Meet on the Piazza.

First Aid Course We'll be at the Students' Union on a First Aid Course on the weekend of Week 3, expect a rigorous but ultimately thoroughly useful 9-5:30pm day. Head here to book your place. 9am-5:30pm

Monday 27th October (Week 5)

Drop-in Session Have any questions about the Duke of Edinburgh's Award? Is eDofE the bane of your life? We've got all the answers – in R0.41 from 5pm – and drop-in as you please. 5pm

Sunday 2nd November (Week 5)

Stratford Orienteering Day

We're off to Stratford-Upon-Avon for a wondrously lazy day of walking around in a place where it'll be impossible to get lost. Find out more via our Facebook event, including where we'll be meeting on Sunday morning.

Friday 15th November - Sunday 17th November (Week 7)

Snowdonia Weekend

Our first weekend walking trip of the year! We'll have a minibus taking you over the weekend to Snowdonia, ready for a gentle stroll or two over the Welsh countryside, plus enjoy a break from your studies post-reading week! Note the lack of camping and love of pubs.

Christmas Social

For the final DofE event of 2014, we'll be heading out for a meal somewhere to celebrate the end of the year and enjoy each others' company. Location TBC, and look out for a Facebook event.
