Over the last 4 years after graduation from the University of Warwick in 2017, Nak has been actively volunteering his personal time apart from his full-time professional work to share his expertise and experiences through various mentorship programs and activities to support young women in Asia. Apart from being a mentor, he has a strong passion in volunteering and supporting STEM Education in Cambodia as a robotic trainer, a judge for various STEM and Robotic competitions, Chief STEM Project Supervisor. He is also a member of Southeast Asia Research Academy.

His journey as a mentor started in early 2019 while his first involvement with Wedu Cambodia and Development Innovation Program which aims to provide leadership and mentoring for young Women in Tech in Cambodia from February to July 2019. With the experiences as Wedu mentor for Women in Tech program in Cambodia, it gives Nak another step closer to understand about the practical challenges and factors which influence the decision of Cambodian women into technology field. Therefore, he has a strong ambition to close the gender gap in the ICT field not only in Cambodia, but also at regional level in Southeast Asia. Every single woman out there are powerful and deserve equal chance to reach their full potential of achieving their goals and dreams.

With his strong commitment and passion in mentorship, soon after the first program completed, Nak had taken up another 8-month mentorship program of Wedu’s Global Mentorship Programme (GMP) with his mentee, a young girl studying Computer Science and Information Technology at Bangladesh University of Business and Technology. Back then, she was a Women Leading the Change WEDU Global Rising Star -2019.

Through YSEALI (Young Southeast Asian Leaders Initiative) Women’s Leadership Academy 2020 mentorship program, Nak has committed another three months with similar role as a mentor for another young girl from Laos with an educational background in International Business Management. Apart from mentorship program, in early 2020, Nak also supported Wedu as Interview Leader to select the next Rising Stars which is the final selection step to hear from each candidate directly her vision for social change, goals, and development needs who are leading the change.
