my teaching

I began teaching Spanish to adults and undergraduates in 2004. I like to be resourceful, creative, open to new ideas and sometimes relentless when designing teaching and learning materials, I enjoyed very much putting into practice something that I think will help learners to improve their Spanish skills. I have also tried to use my experience as language learner. My aim is that when I design support material as I do now to support academic research I focus on students/learners needs.

Coventry University (2004-to date)

Modules and events: Spanish Beginners, Spanish Intermediate, Holiday Spanish & GCSE Revision Days

I have been working for them for four years and also enjoyed the experience very much. It is here that I became interested in blended learning, enhancing traditional lectures (in languages is more like workshops really) with long distance learning supported by CU online (using Blackboard). Students showed interest in having more electronic resources for self-study.

Coventry City Council (2003-2006)

Courses: Spanish Beginners, Spanish year 1, Spanish year 2 & Holiday Spanish

I taught at Adult Education Service for four years, I went to various schools and community centres, it was a great experience and enjoyed teaching and meeting all those wonderful students. I was nominated for the Adult Education Awards as language teacher of the year in 2004! It is here that I began using yahoo groups as means of communication in the UK to share resources with other language teachers (I used it before to share resources with other administrators back in Peru).
