Science Communication Course 2009

I attended an intensive three day module at Imperial College London and BBC Bush House that introducted me to science communication and the science media. Through hands-on workshops and teamwork, I encountered the practices, themes and issues surrounding science communication – addressing questions like “why should scientists engage with the public?”, “what are the opportunities and difficulties associated with dealing with the media?” and “how does science journalism work?” During this course I participated in the production of a science radio programme in the BBC’s famous Bush House radio studios,
