In celebration of International Women's Day, we are shining an additional light on the fantastic achievements of our global alumnae. From established leaders to rising stars, these women are shaping the world around us and the Warwick of today.

Bience Gawanas (LLB Law, 1986; Hon LLD, 2023)

Inspirational advocate, champion for women's rights and social justice, and committed to improving healthcare and development in Africa, Bience's career across law and human rights has spanned over 40 years. In 2025, she also became Warwick's Chancellor.

Cat White (BA English and French, 2015)

Catherine is an award-winning award-winning actor, author, filmmaker, gender equality expert, CEO of award-winning Kusini Productions, and Honorary Fellow of the University of Oxford.

Kelly Simmons (BA Sociology with Social Policy, 1990)

Kelly is a senior leader within the football industry. From 2018-2023, Kelly was the FA Director of the Women’s Professional Game, where she led the transformation of the women’s professional game securing record sponsorship and media deals.

Amina Zahid (MSc Programme & Project Management, 2021)

Amina is a Project Manager at Mott MacDonald – an engineering, development, and management consultancy that plan, design, deliver and maintain infrastructure – that is integral to people’s daily lives from transport to energy, water, and buildings.

Rachel Moseley (BA English and European Literature, 1990)

Rachel has spent her career advocating for the Arts. Now Vice-Provost, Chair of the Faculty of Arts, and Professor of Film and Television Studies, she’s been instrumental in shaping and supporting our outstanding arts and humanities provision.

Natasha Latiff (LLB Law, 2009)

One hour in the company of human rights lawyer and activist Natasha and she’ll take you to some of the scariest places in the world. Places where the rights of women, low-paid workers, and marginalised communities are rarely heard, let alone fought for.

Kaammini Chanrai (BA PPE, 2013)

Kaammini is the Equity & Inclusion Director at Brentford Football Club. Starting her career at Refuge, she has worked in local government on transformational projects with a focus on homelessness and domestic abuse.

Kare Adenegan (BA History, 2022)

Coventry-born Kare won two silver medals at the 2024 Paris Paralympics Games, coming in just seconds behind her GB team mate Hannah Cockcroft, in both the T34 100m and 800m. These are now added to her silver and bronze medals won at Rio 2016 and Tokyo 2020.

Juggling a career in AI with her newfound passion for gin, Lu has a unique career journey. From an early start in cognitive AI to launching her own gin brand inspired by her family’s roots in Hong Kong.
