Ancient History GCSE Resources

The WCN has been working together with Classics for All to create a suite a resources, starting with Ancient History GCSE. This is the first phase of a joint project which has involved the collaboration of a team of academics and teachers across the country, spearheaded by Peter Wright of Blackpool Sixth Form (teacher of the year at the Times Education Supplement Further Educations Awards 2015), with major contributions from Anna McOmish of Aldridge School and Dr Maria Haley of the University of Leeds and Classics for All North, as well as content from Ben Windsor of HASLA, Kirsty Churchill of Cardinal Newman School, and a bit of tweaking and website design by Dr Paul Grigsby of WCN (watch this space for more contributors).

These resources will also be available on Classics for All's other hub websites. We are grateful to OCR for the permission to use certain resources, which can also be accessed via their own website. Many of the images have been accessed from the Ancient History Encyclopedia which we recommend you check out for their wealth of material. These Ancient History resources are being continually created and updated, so keep an eye out for new content as it is published. We hope you find these resources useful and we invite your feedback (for feedback, please follow this link). To kick off our resources, here is an introductory PowerPoint presentation - an Introduction to Ancient History (left) created by Anna McOmish. Enjoy!
