Joint Degree Students - how to sign up for optional English modules and your seminars

Please see the following details regarding the English Department core modules for your degree course, and the optional cores which are open to you in the Department of English in your first year.

You must do four things:

1) You will already have been timetabled for any core module and these details can either be obtained from your home department, via your Personal timetable on Tabula or by visiting the English Department, room H506, 5th floor of the Humanities Building.

2) During your first week, you must then sign up for any further optional core English module by going along to the English Department, room H506, 5th floor of the Humanities Building. This is the ONLY way you can be added to an English module. You may want to attend the lectures in week 1 before you make up your mind. We will then timetable you on Tabula for this module.

3) Please let your ‘home’ department know which optional core module you are opting for

4) Complete your module registrations via EMR

If there are any problems with the timing of your seminars, i.e. teaching clashes, you should first discuss with your home department to see if the matter can be sorted, if not, please come back to the English Department in order to sort out the issue, i.e. changing seminar groups.

Please note: All English Department lectures will run in week 1. All English Department 1st year seminars will start in week 2. A register is taken at all seminars and attendance is compulsory.
