Staff winners of MLA Prizes

Maureen Freely (left) won the Lois Roth Award for a Translation of a Literary Work together with Alexander Dawe for their translation of The Time Regulation Institute, by Ahmet Hamdi Tanpınar (Penguin, 2014). Elizabeth Goldring (right) and Elizabeth Clarke won the MLA Prize for a Scholarly Edition for their editorship of John Nichols's The Progresses and Public Processions of Queen Elizabeth I, 5 vols (Oxford: Oxford University Press, 2014).

The Warwick Writing Programme is number one for Creative Writing in the UK (Times/Sunday Times 2014). Founded in 1996, it is the largest and most comprehensive of its kind in Europe. Hear from our students...

We launched our Transformations Summer School in July 2013 – a free, two-day non-residential drama and storytelling event developed by the department's Widening Participation Team. The summer school supports current year 9 and 10 school pupils who are considering a future in Higher Education and who have a keen interest in English literature, theatre studies and the creative arts.

Our Open Days for those holding offers to study the English Literature degree at Warwick are scheduled for February 10, 2016; February 24, 2016; and March 9, 2016. Please see the details on the Open Day website and we will advise when registration will open.
