My project is attempting to understand the "United Kingdom" not as a country but as England's (moral) ideology. Specifically, I am investigating how much the United Kingdom ideology has relied on Good for its exploits, hence why I am examining the ways in which Good and Evil manifest in Gothic. By looking at the Good in Gothic, and asking what makes the Good so Good in comparison to the so-called Evil, I hope to demonstrate how the United Kingdom ideology functions.
