The Department has a strong track record in the REF, having been ranked 1st in the subject in the 2014 exercise (dropping to 23rd in 2021). The next REF will be REF 2029, and the University's preparations and support for REF 2029 are detailed on the Research and Impact Services website. The Department's REF preparations are overseen by its REF subcommittee.
