Contribute a 'Brief Life'
The Early Modern Forum would like to invite students at any level to contribute to the Brief Lives project. We are looking for students to provide brief biographies of individuals from the Early Modern period (c.1450-1850) who they have come across through their work or research, to be placed on the Brief Lives webpages on the forum.
We are primarily looking for biographies on more obscure characters who may have been overlooked by the wider academic scholarship or who have only existed as peripheral figures to more high profile personalities. However if you have any angle on a more well known character which you feel has not been exploited before we would be very interested to hear from you. Suitable material might include: individuals for whom there are particularly rich and underused texts, both print and manuscript; moments in lives that deserve more attention; and those who lived outside Britain. We hope this is an excellent way of showcasing your research and it will look good on your CV!
Students can produce their biographies in one of two ways, the first a single page of text (minimum 500 words) accompanied by an appropriate picture, or alternatively as a podcast. We will help support you to do this if you are unfamiliar with podcasting. For those at partner institutions of the Early Modern Forum (including Warwick), financial inducements are available (£30 for a text version, £50 for a podcast).
