Deputising for the Academic Administrator and assisting with all aspects of UG and PG student and course administration to ensure accurate student records; monitoring teaching, learning and assessment quality processes to ensure activities are fully compliant with University regulations.

Working with the teaching and learning administration team to coordinate the preparation and presentation of accurate assessment and examination marks and recommendations to examination boards, including managing the distribution of results to the students. Acting as secretary to exam board meetings.

PGT Course Administration

• Providing direct support to the Director of PGT Studies in delivering the PGT

programmes in the History department;

• Providing effective administrative support for PGT students from admission through to graduation;

• Dealing with queries from prospective PGT students;

• Producing online and hardcopy promotional materials in conjunction with academic staff for PGT programmes;

• Advising staff and students on admissions procedures, and processing all PGT student applications; including promotion and administration of PGT funding/scholarship awards;

• Creating and maintaining PGT student webpages and ensuring that all information is consistent with central requirements;

• Assisting with the annual drafting and updating of the PGT student handbook for departmental approval, ensuring consistency between the handbook and relevant Department and University webpages;

• Preparing and reviewing communications with PGT students, and acting as a first point of contact for PGT queries;

• Processing of PGT module registrations at the beginning of the academic year;

• Administering and maintenance of PGT Tabula records, including coursework management, dissemination of feedback, personal tutors, and student monitoring;

• Implementing and maintaining progress/attendance monitoring schemes for PGT students in accordance with central requirements, including identifying issues regarding student visas, non-engagement, and pastoral matters;

• Supporting the Academic Administrator and Exams Secretary with all PGT exam board related matters, including marks uploads, mitigating circumstances submissions, and liaising with external examiners ahead of the PGT Board of Examiners’ meetings in June and November;

• Processing of PGT Board of Examiners’ decisions on Tabula/central marks management system to meet central marks deadline release.

Timetabling

• Acting as departmental representative for History timetabling issues internally in the History department and externally when liaising with colleagues from the central timetabling office;

• Responsibility for planning and implementing the departmental timetable for undergraduate & postgraduate modules;

• Managing and limiting timetable clashes to minimise impact on staff and students;

• Responsible for implementing any adhoc timetable changes throughout the academic year;

• Leading the set up and maintenance of small group teaching events in Tabula in liaison with the UG and PGR Co-ordinators.
