Welcome from our head of department, an introduction from some of the key staff you'll be dealing with and a confirmation of the week's schedule.

First Year Module Fair Maths and Stats Foyer

Our first year module fair is designed to give you a taste of the various optional modules you can take in your first year, and gives you the chance to talk to module convenors and students about which modules suit your interests.

New Students Cream Tea Social Panorama Rooms, Rootes Building

A relaxed social event for new undergraduates and postgraduates to mingle, meet your personal tutor groups and enjoy a very English afternoon tea!

A short introduction to your degree and what your personal tutor can do to support both your academic success and your personal wellbeing in your time with us.

A chance to come and meet some of the academic and professional staff in the department, with refreshments available in H303 and H305. Come with any queries you have about modules, your interests, or your course or just drop in for a chat! Interested in the research of one of our staff members? Drop in and ask about it!

What does it mean to be a historian? An informal talk by members of the department, discussing what it means to be a historian, the key skills and strengths to be a good historian, and the role we play in society.

Joint Degree Induction (for joint degree students with a different department as home department) LIB2

A session to support those of you on joint degree programmes not administered by History, including English and History, GSD and History and Languages and History degrees. This is for students who have not otherwise been present for History welcome week events, as a chance to meet the department and ask any questions.
