SV2G
Jacque Roberts, CEO of heritage and culture charity St Vincent and the Grenadines Second Generation contacted Kate Astbury in 2021 to ask if there was any research that could be shared with them. This request has led to a series of co-produced projects to make better known the history of the Windward islands during the French Revolutionary wars. This collaboration has been funded by the University's Institute for Engagement Co-production and collaboration fund and by HEIF impact funding.

One of our dedicated sessions at the National Archives, Kew
We have:
- upskilled SV2G members with dedicated sessions at the National Archives
- created a pull-up banner exhibition on the history of St Vincent
- worked together on a project with St Paul's Cathedral
- co-hosted teachers and a cultural officer from St Vincent and the Grenadines to work on developing learning resources
- co-hosted a visit by an international delegation of Garifuna from central America and the US to Portchester Castle
- co-presented a conference paper at the 12th International Garifuna conference (KIngstown, St Vincent, March 2025)
The collaboration is ongoing. You can listen to some of our reflections on the benefits of collaboration and coproduction in this 2023 video:
