Research

Her project 'Algorithms, Rewriting, and the Manipulation of Literary Fame: English novels as Chinese digital propaganda' examines the most frequently recommended English novels in translation on Chinese social media and e-commerce platforms, and their promotion of traditional heroine archetypes as post-feminist role models of female empowerment in an era where the Chinese Communist Party has adopted pro-marriage and pro-fertility policies as a means of redressing the increasing population crisis.
